New Release from Carmes Haut Brion

Newly released, we are delighted to offer the "irresistably delicious" Le C des Carmes Haut Brion 2020.  

2020 was a triumphant vintage for Carmes Haut Brion:  Awarded the perfect 100 point rating from Antonio Galloni (one of only 4) and undoubtedly one of the Wines of the Vintage: "simply magnificent.  A masterpiece from Technical Director Guillaume Pouthier and his team”.  Galloni is also effusive in his praise for the the sumptuous second wine Le C des Carmes Haut Brion which is also highly rated by The Wine Advocate and James Suckling (both 94/100).

Le C des Carmes is a Cabernet Sauvignon lead second wine from younger vines in Martillac.  It receives the same loving attention to detail from the team but with less new oak and less whole bunch leading to an earlier drinking style.

"Bottled after 24 months' élevage, much of which took place in large foudres, the 2020 Le C des Carmes Haut-Brion offers up aromas of dark berries, plums and spices complemented by hints of rose petal and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, supple and pillowy, with an ample core of fruit framed by melting tannins, it's a suave and charming blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot."
