This is one of the sexy 2005s, a rarity given this slow-evolving vintage that is evolving more like a glacier. Dense ruby/purple, with sweet cassis fruit, black cherries, fruitcake and cedar, this full-bodied wine has a luscious texture. This is a big La Dominique from proprietor Clément Fayat. It can be drunk now, or cellared for another 10-15 years. Score: 93 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2015-2030 30 June 2015 |

Sexy black cherry/kirsch liqueur-like notes intermixed with plenty of toasty oak, roasted herbs, and meaty scents jump from the glass of this hedonistic, opulent 2005. After some lackluster performances, it is good to see this estate return to form. The wine possesses decent acidity, sweet, velvety tannins, and undeniable sex appeal. Enjoy it over the next 12-15+ years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2008-2023 30 April 2008 |

One of my favorite estates has made a strong comeback following some lackluster performances over recent years. The 2005 is the finest La Dominique since the glorious duo of 1989 and 1990. Sweet cassis fruit, a hint of kirsch, loads of sexy, toasty oak, serious ripeness, full body, and an opulent, lush, hedonistic personality suggest La Dominique is running on all cylinders in this vintage. With adequate acidity as well as plush tannin, this seductive Bordeaux can be enjoyed over the next 15+ years. Score: 90 - 92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2007-2022 30 April 2007 |

Rebounding nicely after several so-so efforts, the 2005 exhibits a deep ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of kirsch, raspberries, blackberries, and a hint of smoky oak. Opulent, fleshy, heady, and full-bodied, it is a wine to enjoy during its first 12-15 years of life. Score: 89 - 91 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2006-2021 30 April 2006 |
