Aromas of dark wild berries, raspberries, smoked meats, rich soil tones and espresso roast introduce the 2018 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru, a full-bodied, lavishly textural wine that's more structured and muscular than the Charmes-Chambertin that preceded it, built around livelier acids and concluding with a longer finish. If the Charmes is more extroverted, the Mazy is deeper and more serious, built for the cellar. Score: 92 - 94 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 09 January 2020 |

The 2018 Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru has a beautifully defined bouquet of intense red berry fruit and displays superb mineralité – vrai Mazys. It is more serious than the Charmes-Chambertin. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very pure red currant and raspberry fruit and gentle grip. An undertow of pepperiness surfaces toward the voluminous finish. Superb.
