The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Village is a cuvée that I tasted just after racking at the domaine so I deferred scoring. Now in bottle, it has a juicy crushed strawberry and cranberry bouquet with light incense aromas. The palate is smooth on the entry. Plenty of brambly red fruit is laced with sage and a pinch of sea salt. The stems impart a pleasant tertiary note on the finish that becomes spicier with time. A ripe array of various red berries and floral nuances gives way to supple, round and attractively textured middle weight flavors that terminate in a dusty and youthfully austere finish that is pretty if a bit short. Score: 87 - 89 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2026+ 10 January 2020 |

Wafting from the glass with an inviting bouquet of sweet red cherries, berries, orange rind and spices, the 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Village is medium to full-bodied, supple and elegant, with powdery structuring tannins, fine concentration and a nicely defined finish.
