Tasting Notes | ||||

A spicy and naturally exotic nose freely offers up notes of tea, white flowers and pretty essence of pear wisps. There is again terrific cut and intensity to the even more mineral-driven medium weight flavors that are shaped by bright and firm acidity on the sappy and hugely long finish. This is quite dense and unusually powerful for Genevrières. In a word, wonderful. Score: 94 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2029+ 10 June 2021 |

The 2019 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru, which comes from 85-year-old vines, has an expressive, almost Charmes-like bouquet, wild honey mixed with heather and hints of chamomile. The oak is neatly enmeshed. The palate is very well balanced, one of the most elegant and poised contributions from this Premier Cru, offering touches of orange pith and white peach mixed with hazelnut toward the finish. The kind of Meursault that makes you smile like a Cheshire cat. Score: 92 - 94 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2023-2040 01 December 2020 |
