Here there are no such reductive issues with the exuberantly spicy aromas of plum, cassis, black cherry and exotic tea. Like the Bossières the medium weight plus flavors possess a sleek and juicy mouth feel with superb intensity that carries over to the well-balanced and beautifully persistent finale. This isn't as concentrated as either the Beaux Monts or the Suchots but I really like the balance and overall sense of harmony. The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées has a clean and precise bouquet with black cherries, bergamot and candied orange peel scents that are initially discrete, but gain in intensity with aeration. The palate is crisp and taut with supple tannin. There is a keen line of acidity, nicely integrated oak and there is a huge amount of freshness and joie-de-vivre on the finish, sorbet orange lingering on the aftertaste. This is a magnificent reading of the vineyard. Score: 93 - 95 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2035 01 December 2015 |
