30% of the crop was made in the small jars, with no new wood at all now. The rest was made in older barrels. Slightly fuller colour, which might be the vintage difference, and of course no new oak effect. Full, rounded, with quite sweet fruit, and a definite whole bunch effect. A rich and succulent style yet with an attractive finish. Tasted: February 2020. Score: 91 Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy 01 February 2020 |

An expressive, ripe and airy nose features relatively primary essence of red cherry, baked plum, cassis, pomegranate and earth notes. The succulent middle weight flavors possess obvious muscle along with plenty of minerality on the attractively complex, dusty, palate coating and impressively long finish. This isn't much on refinement but one can't complain about the concentration to its potential longevity. Score: 91 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2027+ 15 January 2018 |

Bright, full medium red. Very ripe aromas of cherry and strawberry. Then surprisingly sappy and stylish on the palate, displaying lovely finesse of texture without any undue weight. Wonderfully broad and deep for premier cru, but with spicy high notes contributing to the wine's impression of definition and its light touch; there's also an element of medicinal reserve that I did not find in the Millandes. Best today on the very long finish, which features noble, fine-grained tannins and terrific rising perfume. I'm not sure I would have picked this blind as a 2015, in spite of the almost candied ripeness shown by the nose. Score: 93 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com Maturity: 2024-2035 01 January 2018 |

Lush nose, super-ripe and close to porty. Opulent and velvet-textured with good depth of fruit on the palate. The tannins are fine-grained and the structure discreet, and it seems balanced with some complexity on the finish. Score: 91 Decanter, Decanter.com 01 January 2017 |
