Precision and fresh acidities mark the opening of this wine, there is plenty of blueberry and redcurrant fruit, fine tannins with edges of peony, aniseed, fennel and cumin that add depth. An appealing wine with finesse, holding the line within the vintage. 30hl/h yield. Tasted twice. Score: 91 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2040 02 April 2024 |

The 2021 La Lagune is a bold, expressive wine. Macerated dark cherry, tobacco, gravel, incense, cured meats, licorice and worn-in leather give the 2021 notable complexity. A wine of gravitas and brooding depth, this La Lagune is impeccably done. Very fine. Score: 92 Antonio Galloni, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2027-2041 27 February 2024 |

The 2021 La Lagune put in a decent showing out of barrel. I tasted it from two bottles, the first rejected as it felt slightly corked. The second is fresher with blackberry and raspberry fruit, cedar and light cigar box scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry, berry and graphite notes and some attenuation toward the finish. Nonetheless, it is a decent, classically styled La Lagune that will hopefully gain more weight with bottle age. Score: 88 Neal Martin, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2042 22 February 2024 |

A pretty middle-weight, the 2021 La Lagune offers up inviting aromas of sweet berries and plums mingled with hints of licorice, loamy soil, raw cocoa and cigar wrapper. Medium-bodied, ample and succulent, it's fleshy and seamless, with an ample core of fruit, bright acids and melting tannins. A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, it checks in at a modest 12.5% alcohol. Tasted four times, twice at the château.
