The 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has a rounded, generous, warm bouquet of red summer fruit, figs and touches of undergrowth. The palate is bold and voluminous, displaying moderate acidity but perhaps not as much tension as the 2014. The finish is clean and pure, but not engaging. It satisfies the senses more than intellect – “a bit of a tart, you might say, but a nice tart at that. Given the Premier Cru, I wager that it will discover more nobility with 10 years in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2025-2055 01 November 2018 |

The 2015 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers has a more feminine, more fruit-driven bouquet than the NSG Clos des Porrets, very pure crushed strawberry, red cherry and cranberry aromas that gain intensity all the time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with blood orange on the entry, plenty of lively red berry fruit with admirable mineralité and tension on the finish. This is a superb les Pruliers from Domaine Gouges and it should give a couple decades worth of drinking pleasure.
