The 2017 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru is bright, precise and beautifully sculpted. Petrol, graphite and white flowers give the Vaillons an exotic feel that is really beguiling. Pliant and also chiseled, the Vaillons impressed with its alluring beauty and exceptional balance. Although the 2017 is going to need a number of years to be at its very finest, it is also really impressive today. Score: 94 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2022-2037 01 July 2019 |

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons bursts from the glass with a pretty, aromatic bouquet of citrus blossom, white peach and spring flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and expressive, with an open-knit, satiny-textured core, tangy acids and a precise, mouthwatering finish. From bottle, this confirms Didier Séguier's confidence and merits a higher score than I gave it from barrel.
