The (Verdejo) vines were planted some time ago but the wine was made only from three years ago. Sleek and refreshing with excellent texture and interest. Lemon pastille aromas. The style of the 2021 Blanco de Parcela Fuente de las Hontanillas is as far removed from the style of the reds as possible. You'd expect a sensual, ripe, generous and oaky white à la Kistler or similar, but this is delicate, low in alcohol (12.5%), soft, young and tender with an appley nose and a light and austere palate with pungent flavors and acidity (pH 3.0 and 6.92 grams of acidity), sharp and dry. It's a blend of Verdejo and Albillo that matured in barrel for 10 months, but the oak is unnoticeable. 6,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2022.
