The 2018 La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion is soft, fruity and easygoing, just as it was en primeur. Sweet floral notes, spice and sweet oak lend pretty bright accents. On the palate, the 2018 remains a bit light and not fully developed. Overall, the 2018 comes across as a touch narrow in build and lacking persistence. Score: 90 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2023 - 2033 26 August 2021 |

The 2018 La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion is delicate, floral and savory. The aromatics are quite appealing in the Chapelle, but I find the mid-palate a bit lacking in both fruit and freshness. The finish is also both compact and short. My impression is that the wine is not fully put together just yet. The blend is 51.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40.8% Merlot and 7.6% Cabernet Franc. Score: 87 - 89 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com 01 April 2019 |

The 2018 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion has really blossomed since I tasted it in barrel. The bouquet is very pure and perfumed, featuring shimmering red berry fruit, briar, undergrowth and a touch of peppermint dallying in the background. The palate is very well balanced with smooth tannins, very nicely pitched acidity and a subtle marine note toward the finish. This is just plain delicious. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2022 - 2032 18 August 2021 |

The 2018 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion has a lifted, quite floral bouquet with brambly red fruit, briary, pencil shaving and damp moss aromas. I find the wood nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity with a subtle marine/black olive note that becomes more prominent towards the finish. Fine. Score: 89 - 91 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2022-2032 01 November 2019 |

I loved the 2018 La Chapelle De La Mission Haut-Brion, which ranks with some of the finest second wines out there. Showing the classic elegance that is the hallmark of this terroir, its ruby/purple color is followed by beautiful notes of black raspberries, mulberries, damp earth, graphite, truffle, and espresso roast. Rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and light on its feet, it still brings plenty of concentration, ripe, seamless tannins, and serious length. It reminds me of the 2016. Drink this smoking Pessac any time over the coming two decades. Score: 94 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com Maturity: 2021 - 2041 18 July 2021 |

The 2018 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is a blend of 40.8% Merlot, 51.6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7.6% Cabernet Franc. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it comes galloping out of the glass with bold notions of blackcurrant pastilles, stewed black plums and boysenberries, with suggestions of chocolate mint, pencil lead and clove oil, plus a hint of scorched earth. The medium to full-bodied palate is jam-packed with juicy black fruits, nicely offset by lovely freshness and ripe, rounded tannins, finishing long and spicy. The 2018 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is composed of 40.8% Merlot, 51.6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7.6% Cabernet Franc, harvested September 10 to October 2. Deep garnet-purple colored, it rocks up with ready-for-business scents of baked blueberries, raspberry compote and warm blackcurrants with touches of fungi, yeast extract, menthol and espresso plus a fragrant waft of red roses. Full-bodied, the palate has wonderful freshness lifting the black and red fruit preserves, framed by beautifully rounded tannins and finishing on a savory note. Score: 91 - 93 Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 23 April 2019 |

Purity of blueberry, blackcurrant and chocolate character here. Shell and iodine. It’s full-bodied, chewy and structured with lots of cool tannins that lead long through the center of the wine. Second wine of La Mission. Needs four or five years to soften. Try after 2025. Score: 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Maturity: 2025+ 05 March 2021 |

A solid second wine from La Mission with currants, blackberries and hints of fresh tobacco. Oyster shell as well. Full-bodied with firm and chewy yet fine-grained tannins. Driven and long. Score: 93 - 94 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 11 April 2019 |

Powerful nose, still extremely young. This is serious with tannic heft and good savoury acidity that suggests it will age well. Beautiful fragrance as it opens in the mouth, showcasing violet and raspberry leaf notes combined with a woodsmoke edge. 28.6% of overall production, 22% new barrels, Bottled mid-May 2020. Score: 92 Jane Anson, Decanter.com Maturity: 2022-2040 10 November 2020 |

Gorgeously finessed blueberries and blackberries are fresh and full of juice. Not for the first time tasting these 2018s, there's the feeling that this is a 2009 but with a little more freshness. Luxurious and silky, it's perhaps a little atypical but easy to love. 3.96pH. Score: 92 Jane Anson, Decanter.com Maturity: 2026-2040 15 April 2019 |
