a vivid, kirsch and wild strawberry bouquet with touches of orange zest and marmalade, a touch of mushroom in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, sage and melted tar. There is wonderful structure here, superb salinity, completely fulfilling the promise it demonstrated out of bottle. Perhaps yes, I was a little over-enthusiastic at that time, but after ten years it has foraged wonderful focus and vivacity. Seek this out. Tasted January 2016. Score: 93 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2016-2030 01 January 2016 |

Tasted privately with a negotiant. A beautiful sweet, slightly gamey nose with bright red berried fruits and hint of Medjool dates. Good definition. Very well balanced with superbly integrated new oak, good acidity and focus. Cassis, crushed violets and blueberry, with an almost Margaux-like finish. Very pretty and beautifully poised. One of the top Saint Emilions. Tasted April 2007. Score: 94 - 96 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 May 2007 |

This elegant, deep ruby/purple-tinged 2006 offers copious quantities of sweet mocha, black cherry, and black currant fruit as well as a hint of powdered rock. A nicely concentrated, medium-bodied, finesse-styled St.-Emilion, it exhibits sweet tannin as well as the potential to evolve for 12-15 years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 February 2009 |

A sweet, ripe, fleshy effort with soft tannins, impressive concentration, and sexy, up-front aromas of black cherries, herbs, crushed rocks, and spring flowers, this medium-bodied St.-Emilion will undoubtedly put on more weight will additional cellaring. Now run by John Kolasa of Rauzan Segla (formerly manager of Chateau Latour). Previously one of the most esteemed Chateaux of its appellation, owners Chanel have invested to restore the wine of this great terroir to its past glories. The wines made here are traditional, pure Saint Emilion with the same oenologist as Cheval Blanc and Figeac. Canon is generally amongst the earliest Saint Emilion to harvest due to its favoured situation on the plateau. 60% of the Canon is generally amongst the earliest Saint Emilion to harvest, due in part to its favoured situation on the plateau enabling the grapes to ripen evenly. Mid-crimson in colour. A fragrant, pleasing nose of fresh and pure raspberry fruit. Sweetly ripe fruit with minerals and very fine grained tannins - all in all, a delicate, restrained and balanced style. Score: 90 - 92 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2007 |
