Tasting Notes

This opulent, full-bodied wine does not show much complexity, but it offers loads of fruit, glycerin and light tannins in a straightforward yet very satisfying style. Drink it over the next decade. (89+ Points)

A tiny garagiste property (under 7.5 acres) renowned for its one parcel of extremely old vines planted in 1901, the 2010 (which is 14% natural alcohol and overseen by the famous guru in St.-Emilion, Stephane Derenoncourt) is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. This inky bluish/purple wine displays notes of camphor, toast and spice box, as well as black raspberry and blueberry liqueur. Full-bodied, unctuously textured, sexy and lush, this is somewhat atypical of a 2010 in that it can be drunk when released and cellared for 10-15+ years.
