Once again there is strong reduction present. The restrained medium-bodied flavors possess excellent delineation before culminating in a delicious, stony, austere and quite serious finish. Score: 90 - 92 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2022+ 15 January 2016 |

(aged in 40% new oak; from vines in the premier crus Petite Chapelle, Cherbaudes and Bel-Air averaging 70 to 80 years of age): Bright red with ruby highlights. Deep, smoky minerality complements purple and black fruits on the nose. Sappy, intense and nicely delineated, showing classic Gevrey energy to the flavors of tangy dark berries and game. Finishes with firm, fine-grained tannins and excellent length. This wine will give early pleasure but should also age well."This is always a very ripe cuvée but with good acidity," notes Mortet. Score: 90 - 92 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com 01 January 2016 |

The 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru is a blend of Cherbaud, Bel Air and Petit Chapelle. Up until 2012 it included Champonnet, which Arnaud now blends separately. Matured in 40% new oak, it has a very expressive, mineral-driven bouquet with vivid blackberry and cranberry scents, cold limestone in the background. The palate is very composed with filigree tannin and sensual in the mouth with a keen line of acidity; this is a more understated Gevrey but that detail on the finish is wondrous. Score: 92 - 94 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2038 01 December 2015 |
