The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur gives you everything that the Vaudésir does not this year. The bouquet comes sprinting out of the glass with vibrant citrus peel and flint-like aromas that are very focused and poised. The palate is very well balanced, saline in the mouth, very cohesive and packed full of complex saline, flinty notes towards the finish. Plus with the long aftertaste, you have one of William Fevre's best wines this year. This is an outstanding wine from winemaker Didier Seguier. Bright lemon-green. Highly complex nose melds white peach, lemon, flint and white pepper, along with an ineffable touch of brown spices. Very silky and rich but with lovely ripe framing acidity. Conveys a strong impression of saline dry extract along with an incredibly fine-grained texture. A wonderfully suave, seamless, weightless Valmur with superb mounting persistence.
