Tasting Notes

The 2015 Ségla reveals baked cherries, hoisin and light cedar aromas on the nose, which is tightly wound at first but gains intensity with aeration. The oak is neatly integrated. The very well-balanced, medium-bodied palate features firm tannin, commendable purity, smooth texture and just a touch of white pepper and graphite toward the persistent finish. This is a classy Margaux to add to many others. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Good fresh top note. Savoury, meat-and-two-vegy. A bit sturdy but honest. Really pretty dry on the end.

This has a mouthwatering singed alder note through the middle, with hints of juniper and dried bay leaf adding range to the core of mulled plum and fig fruit. A toasty style, broad in feel but accessible. Drink now through 2027.

The 2015 Ségla is a very pretty second wine with lovely aromatic complexity and depth. Succulent and racy, the 2015 expresses the radiant personality of the vintage nicely. Savory herb and floral touches add aromatic nuances throughout. The 2015 is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc.

A solid red with a dense palate of ripe fruit, chewy tannins and a savory finish. This shows structure and reserve. Excellent second wine from Rauzan.
