Chocolate, espresso roast, plum, fig, and black currant aromas are followed by a dense, rich, full-bodied Pomerol displaying superb purity, elegance, and noticeable but ripe tannin. There is not an astringent element to be found in this savory, layered, opulent 2006. It is ideal for drinking over the next 12-15+ years. Score: 92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2024 01 February 2009 |

This brilliant Pomerol made by Dr. Alain Raynaud for proprietress Helene Garcin is beautifully situated not far from l’Eglise Clinet. A star in the making since Madame Garcin took control of the estate in 1997, the 2006 offers beautiful blueberry, raspberry, and cherry notes intermixed with toasty new oak, spring flowers, and spice. Soft tannin, medium to full-bodied, lovely fruit, and fine length suggest this impressive effort should drink deliciously for 15 or more years. Score: 92 - 94 Robert Parker, - 01 January 1900 |

Tasted at the château. A rich, decadent nose that is very pure with ravishing black cherries, blueberry and iodine. Good definition: a touch of tinned prune developing with aeration on the glass. The palate is ripe and rounded with high extraction but with the acidity to cut through all that toasty fruits. Black cherries, blueberry and a little earth. Very good length, though perhaps lacking a little tension and nervosity on the finish. I have a feeling this will flesh out nicely in barrel. Tasted April 2007. Very dark. A bit rustic and plodding on the nose but on the palate there is lots of sweetness - very flattering to taste in fact. Racy, satin textured. I think many people will like this wine even though it is not especially fine or elegant. Lots of bang for the buck. Clean finish. This property is situated opposite Eglise Clinet and is run by the charming Helene Garcin-Leveque with Alain Raynaud consulting. The 2006 displays super-rich aromas of ripe black transparent fruits and tobacco. Dense on the palate with chunky fruit and minerals. The tannins are drying but there is more than enough body to balance and the finish is vibrant. Well-made. Score: 91 - 93 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2007 |

There's a very good core of fruit, with coffee and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, with a velvety finish. Almost 89-91. Score: 85 - 88 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 01 April 2007 |
