Performing far better than it did from barrel two years ago, L’Arrosée’s 2012 offers very fragrant, dark raspberry, black cherry and currant notes that jump from the glass of this wine. It’s an intriguing blend of 60% Merlot and the rest equal parts Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins, an almost Burgundian complexity, forest-floor notes and medium to full-bodied richness and depth. This is a stunner, complex, precocious, and hard to resist, even in its youthfulness. Drink over the next 15 years. Score: 92 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2015-2030 01 April 2015 |

The 2012 is an undernourished, dusty, loamy, herbal style of l’Arrosee, which feels slightly fluid and diluted on the palate. It does possess medium-bodied weight, some earthy and vanillin characteristics, but it lacks the concentration and intensity of a top vintage. Full body, soft textured, and round with ripe fruit and hints of chocolate and vanilla. Generous for the vintage. I have a slight preference for 2011. Score: 90 - 91 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 21 April 2013 |

Shows a coating of singed vanilla, but the leafy core and modest cherry and pomegranate notes emerge quickly. Features a light tomato hint on the finish. Score: 83 - 86 James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 08 April 2013 |
