The 2012 Langoa-Barton has an open-knit bouquet with red fruit and embers, almost ash-like scents, gradually offering a little more cohesion. One of the more opulent Saint-Juliens on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. Fleshy, nicely balanced, approachable with a spicy kick towards quite a substantial finish, this Langoa wears its heart on its sleeve and has wonderful tension throughout. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2022 - 2038 01 September 2022 |

Plenty of juicy blackcurrant fruit and background oak are present in this plump, medium to full-bodied, ripe, well-made wine. Not nearly as tannic as I feared, this wine shows a forward plumpness, excellent purity, texture and length. Drink it over the next 15-20 years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2015-2035 01 April 2015 |

Pretty dried cherry, vanilla and berry character on the nose and palate. Full to medium body, fine tannins and a flavorful finish. A little fluid. Needs two or three years to come together. Score: 89 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 22 February 2015 |

Dark crimson. Edgy, leafy nose with thick appeal though it lacks a bit of really spontaneous freshness. Solid. Score: 16 - 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2020-2032 23 April 2013 |
