The 2008 Chapelle-Chambertin is a huge wine endowed with striking purity in its rich, dark fruit. Despite its sheer richness, the Chapelle also shows great tension in structural elements. In short, it’s all there in this magnificent, compelling Burgundy. Today the oak is a bit dominant and the fruit needs to settle down, but this is shaping up to be a magnificent wine. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2038. Score: 93 Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2018-2038 01 May 2011 |

A noticeably herbal-infused nose of earthy and quite fresh red and blue pinot fruit aromas complements the unusually refined medium weight plus flavors that exude a quiet minerality on the admirably persistent finish. The supporting tannins are dense but fine and this is a Chapelle of finesse though the herbal character will limit the appeal for some. 2020+ Score: 90 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2020+ 01 January 2011 |
