2014Haut Roc Blanquant (by Belair Monange)12x37.5cl--£140CS(12)[Add to shopping basket]91 AV

Haut Roc Blanquant means literally High White Rock. 2014 is the first release of the new third wine of Belair Monange, the Saint Emilion property now owned by JP Moueix, formerly Chateau Belair and Chateau Magdelaine. The vines are perfectly situated on one of the greatest terroirs of Saint Emilion, on the limestone plateau above Ausone and Belair, next to Chateau Canon and below Belair.  Lovely red fruit, gentle weight and a fresh finish.

Sauternes

Highlight: Chateau de Fargues 2001
"Very unctuous with strong acidity and a ‘burnt’ edge. Not as fat as Climens. A bit nervy but very fine and racy. Perfect for a dish that doesn’t need lots of sweetness. Foie gras perhaps? Still pretty chewy. Long."  18 - Jancis Robinson

Vintage Port

Highlight: Graham's 2016
"This wine has every single facet of flavour and energy that I adore in vintage Port. The nose is epic and all-encompassing and the power and attack on the palate is relentless and also insanely pleasurable at the same time. Infinitely layered and lasting for minutes on the palate I went back to taste this Port three
times such was the magnetic appeal of its profound flavours. While this is a dense and indulgent wine it has exquisite freshness, too, and the balance is nothing short of perfect."
